Abigail M. Wright, BCGP BCPS CDP PharmD MS FASCP
Abigail Wright is the founder and owner of Wright Geriatric Consulting, bringing more than six years of experience as a consultant pharmacist dedicated to improving the health and well-being of older adults. Through her practice, she partners with long-term care communities, independent living communities, healthcare providers, older adults, and caregivers to deliver personalized medication management and age-friendly pharmacy services across the continuum of care.
Abigail holds a BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and an MS in Bioscience and Health Policy from Rice University. She graduated cum laude from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and is board certified in both Geriatric Pharmacy (BCGP) and Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Abigail is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). She is licensed to practice pharmacy in Texas and New Mexico and is a registered pharmacist preceptor in Texas.
Recognized as a 2025 Next Gen-Rx Award recipient and the 2026 Texas Pharmacy Association Robert L. Hays Outstanding Consultant Pharmacist of the Year, Abigail is committed to advancing the profession through leadership, education, and innovation. She serves as Co-Chair of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists' Psychotropic Use Committee and is an ASCP Age-Friendly Champion, promoting the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms framework - What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility - to improve care for older adults.
Beyond clinical practice, Abigail is passionate about educating healthcare professionals, students, caregivers, and the community. She regularly presents at local, state, and national conferences on medication safety, age-friendly care, dementia, and healthy aging. Abigail serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Pharmacy Technician Program at Alvin Community College, where she teaches future pharmacy technicians. She is also a preceptor for student pharmacists from multiple Texas colleges of pharmacy and has served as a guest lecturer for the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is actively involved in community outreach and research focused on expanding the role of pharmacists in improving medication safety and the care of older adults.
Through Wright Geriatric Consulting, Abigail is committed to delivering evidence-based, person-centered pharmacy services that improve medication safety, support healthcare teams, and help older adults age with confidence and dignity.
